My Process
Pre-production
Meet the artist / client
Discuss the desired product, scope, style, instrumentation, budget, studio selection, time table.
Song selection; check vocal ranges; select key(s) and tempo; discuss length.
Prep a simple accompaniment track (sampled piano) for the artist.
Record the artist for a guide track. This will serve as a reference for creating the arrangement(s). The final vocals will be recorded at the studio.
Production
Using the recorded guide track, write arrangements; create Midi mock-ups around the artist performance; Make adjustments and changes as needed.
Prepare music (scores and parts) for sessions.
Schedule sessions; book studio and musicians.
Recording sessions.
Post-Production
Edit tracks as needed;
